Working together to enhance the service

Updated: May 6, 2019

We recently had the pleasure of being involved in the Disability Inclusive Confident Employers (DICE) event at Prestwick Airport in Glasgow.

It was a forum where employers, partners and third sector providers across Ayrshire came together to look at how we can support individuals with health issues and disabilities achieve positive outcomes.

Chris Young, Engagement Consultant for StartScotland said “This was all relevant with the launch of the new employability support service Fair Start Scotland so it was great to be asked to get involved. It was an opportunity to speak to potential employers and build our network with partners who we could collaborate with to increase our service offer for potential participants willing to join Fair Start Scotland.”

The event was well attended with input from Bill Grant MP, Jeremy Balfour MSP and Brian Whittle MSP and Scottish Government’s employability team.

Lynne Walker, Employer and Partnership Manager for Ayrshire DWP said “Thank you for your support at the DICE event in particular for your sponsorship for the tea and coffee and for holding a stall advising employers and partners of the support you can provide to them and to people with health conditions and disabilities. Your support is very much appreciated and helped to make the event the success it was.”
