Adam finds the right balance

Adam, 25, joined the Fair Start Scotland programme, struggling with the shared custody of his son and mental health issues. He had recently lost his job as a technical sales adviser and was ready to look for work again with his preference being a working from home position to achieve a better home and job balance.

Adam came to our Dunfermline office and initially worked with our engagement consultant then had several one-to-one appointments with his adviser. He also engaged with the Health and Wellbeing Team to monitor and improve his mental health.

He managed to land a job with a contact centre but, after initially enjoying the role, soon decided it was not for him. Very quickly, he was offered a consultant role with ASA Recruitment. He really enjoys his new role as it allows him to work around his home life and his health and wellbeing has greatly improved as a result. He no longer needs health and wellbeing support.

Adam’s confidence and self-esteem have come on leaps and bounds and he even attended our recent Dunfermline jobs fair and is helping others to move into sustainable employment.
