MOOCs
improving your knowledge
to help you succeed

Have you ever been in a situation where your skills aren’t quite good enough? Then MOOCs are the thing for you!

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are online courses. They are a great way to enhance your knowledge and skills in the area you want to work in. All courses are aimed at increasing the likelihood of you gaining long term employment or getting some new skills if you are already working. Some of the lessons are interactive and take place at a particular time. If these times are not convenient, you can use the catch up function.

MOOCs are delivered by academic professionals and professors, who make the content interesting, interactive and fun. The courses are delivered in bite-sized chunks, so you can fit the learning into your spare time. Some full courses only take 15 minutes to complete - you can do them whilst waiting for a train or bus:

As you work through the courses, there are quizzes, assignments and exams to validate your learning and you can become part of a community of likeminded learners through the forums and discussion boards.

In most cases you’ll get a statement of accomplishment and it’s possible to get a verified certificate from the associated academic body.

Best of all, the majority of MOOCs are free.

With a massive choice of subjects at your fingertips there are no limits to what or how much you can learn.
